We are glad you’re here. Seeking support isn’t easy when you have endured pain and harm in a church. We know, because we’ve been there.

It’s common for people to feel unsure about connecting with others because they have often been told that doing so is gossip or sowing discord. People who have recently stepped away from a difficult environment often still feel like they are the problem and often have a difficult time trusting their own thoughts and decisions. Here are some reasons people seek out a support group.

Emotional Support & Belonging

  • To know they are not alone in what they’re experiencing

  • To be understood by others who “get it” without judgment

  • A safe place to share feelings they may not feel comfortable sharing elsewhere

Practical Help & Coping Skills

  • To learn how others are navigating similar challenges

  • To gather new strategies, tools, or resources

  • To gain encouragement for taking small, brave next steps

Spiritual & Personal Growth

  • To find hope and healing

  • To rebuild confidence and courage after a difficult season

  • To be reminded of God’s presence and promises in the middle of struggle

Accountability & Encouragement

  • To have consistent check-ins so they don’t drift into isolation

  • To celebrate progress, no matter how small

  • To be encouraged when they feel stuck or weary

Community & Connection

  • To build new, meaningful relationships

  • To find a circle of allies who will walk with them long-term

  • To move from surviving alone to healing together
